Let’s finally get to a little bit about the RYZEN THREADRIPPER in ZEN 3, i.e. in the 5000 series. It must be said that at the moment it is quite a masterpiece to find a ZEN 3 processor with more than 8 cores and 16 threads. In fact, the latter have hardly been available since the 5900X and 5950X, which are available in 12c / 24t and 16c / 32t, respectively.
But maybe we could soon have alternatives to the RYZEN THREADRIPPER 5000 in ZEN 3. Normally we should be offered the TR 5990X in 64c / 128t, TR 5970X in 32c / 64t, TR 5960X in 24c / 48c and TR 5950X in 16c / 32t.
We stick to the 7 nm process, still with a TR4 socket and relatively high TDPs, as a reminder we are 280 watts on the current generation.
And so it is said that the new RYZEN THREADRIPPER 5000 could be presented in August at the latest, and they are now supported in the latest version of HWinfo, proof that they are getting closer. However, a launch in August does not guarantee availability in August.
Update of the news from April 6th, 2021: First of all, it seems to have been confirmed that the AMD RYZEN THREADRIPPER 5000 will be announced in August for availability next September. Then the latter, in addition to ZEN 3 or even ZEN 3+, will have the inter-chip global memory interconnect right, which would go from 16 GT / s to 18 GT / s, and the CCX architecture would be different with 32 MB Cache that would be unified. In terms of RAM, we would be with Quad-Channel DDR4 3200 and the TDP should remain unchanged.
Update of the news from July 13th, 2021: According to this, the 5990X model with 64 cores and 128 threads should arrive on November 21st. There was also talk of Chagall X3D, the future RYZEN 3D V-Cache processors, and this time he thought that they would arrive in mid-2022.
