Eagan-based insurer Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota announced that President and CEO Dr. Craig Samitt plans to retire May 3. Former Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Kathleen Blatz, who has served on the Blue Cross board of trustees for more than a decade, will serve as interim CEO while the board conducts a search for Samitt’s replacement. The company said Samitt will closely collaborate with Blatz over the next several weeks to ensure a smooth transition.
