TripKit, the Travel Institute’s introductory training course to the travel industry, has moved completely online.

The college-level course, taken on a self-paced timeline, includes 19 lessons. By moving the course online, the institute said, it removes the barrier of shipping costs and delivery speed for education institutions while enhancing the learning experience for students with interactive elements, progress quizzes and more.

The course covers technology, marketing, geography, customer service and more. The course concludes with the Travel Agent Proficiency (TAP) exam, a recognized standard for determining whether an individual has a mastery of industry basics, the institute said.

Recent TAP graduates are featured on the Travel Institute’s website, alongside a “hire me” link that lets agency owners or hosts get in touch directly.

Diane Petras, president of the Institute, said TripKit is ideal for managers looking for new talent training as well as suppliers looking to train call center staff. TripKit is also used by colleges and other industry training programs.

“There’s simply nothing else like it,” Guida Botelho, the institute’s director of training, said in a statement. “Frontline agents are the face of our industry, and this course provides an accessible, seamless learning experience that coaches new agents with the knowledge and know-how they need to best serve travelers and contribute to the collective success of our industry.”

TripKit Online is available for a $379 enrollment fee.
